Birds in our Barbecue

This is one of the funniest things. We moved into our house in March 2006. The people before us left a propane barbecue. Well soon after we found little twigs hanging out. We couldn't figure out what was going on. We opened it up and found a nest with four blue eggs in it (unfortunately I didn't get a picture of that). Well the eggs hatched we had baby birds. They got their wings and flew off. I cleaned out the barbecue totally that fall and got it all clean so we could use it for a barbecue for Labor Day. Well the next spring, it was full of twigs and we had another nest, eggs and then birds. We didn't even try to clean it last fall and this spring we have this..

kind of a pain, but how cool is that?! your own little bird family at viewing and picture-taking level! how did the birds even get into the bbq to make the nest in the first place?

Crazy! That is so strange how they did it 2 years in a row. We have the same thing happening, but it's wasps and it's under our awning. Fun, huh?

Kind of amazing--I just read a book (No Longer Strangers by Rachel Ann Nunes--pretty good book if you like LDS fiction) and that happened to one of the characters--interesting stuff.

I personally would prefer annual baby birds verses annual wasps.

I remember that! Must be the same family coming back to their favorite home!

Hey Shar,
Ive been lurking on your blog for a while now and figured it was finally time to comment. Brielle is beautiful! I am sooo happy for you guys. I am glad to hear everything is going good in your life.
Thats crazy about the birds making a home out of your bbq. Good thing for their sake you guys are willing to sacrifice cooking some burgers.
